Virginia Beach – Citing her record as a member of the Warner and Kaine Administrations in helping to make Virginia the best managed state in the nation, more than thirty members of the General Assembly today announced their support of Jody Wagner for Lieutenant Governor.
“Jody Wagner was an integral part of the team that helped turn Virginia’s finances around and get the state back on the right track,” said Delegate Joe Bouchard. “That’s the kind of leadership we need in Richmond.”
“Virginians are looking for leaders who are willing to make tough choices and work across the aisle for the common good,” said Senator Charles Colgan. “We can’t afford to turn our back on the approach that has made Virginia so strong over the past six years. That’s why I’m proud to support Jody Wagner for Lieutenant Governor.”
“As a small business woman, Jody Wagner knows how what it takes to help Virginia’s small businesses succeed,” said Delegate Jim Shuler. “As Lieutenant Governor, she’ll work to create jobs in every part of the commonwealth.”
Wagner announced her candidacy for Lieutenant Governor last month. She served as Virginia Treasurer under Governor Mark Warner, and then as Secretary of Finance in the Kaine Administration.
