RICHMOND FREE PRESS ENDORSES WAGNER FOR LT. GOVERNOR

RICHMOND – Today the Richmond Free Press, the state’s largest-circulating African American newspaper, endorsed Jody Wagner for Lieutenant Governor.

The Free Press cited Wagner’s historic opportunity to become the first female to hold the office of Lieutenant Governor, writing:

“Jody Wagner is running to unseat Bill Bolling as Lieutenant Governor.

That alone is reason to back Ms. Wagner, the first woman to serve as Virginia secretary of Finance, a post she held in the Kaine Administration.

We endorsed her in the Democratic primary.

We again recommend Ms. Wagner. She’s competent. She also sends the message that gender bias will not be tolerated in the Commonwealth.”
