STRESS BENEFITS OF THE COMMONWEALTH’S STRONG BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT

ROSSLYN – Today, Virginia Governor Tim Kaine and Jody Wagner, the Democratic nominee for Lt. Governor, hosted a roundtable discussion with members of the business community in Rosslyn. From 2006-2008, Wagner served as Virginia’s first female Secretary of Finance, working with Governor Kaine to maintain the business environment that resulted has resulted in eight “Best State for Business” awards, as well as crafting the landmark Higher Education Investment Package in 2008.

Kaine praised Wagner’s ability to work across party lines to get results for Virginia’s families, saying “Jody Wagner was a key part of my administration, and Virginia is better for her service. When there was a tough problem that needed to be tackled-from assembling the budget to negotiating the Higher Education package-we turned to Jody. I’m confident that as Lt. Governor, she’ll ensure Virginia remains the best state for business, and keeps the Commonwealth moving forward by pursuing consensus, bipartisan solutions to our problems.”
